SCHOLARSHIPS
Knowing that spinal cord injuries change every aspect of a person’s life including employment, SSPF established a named scholarship (The Sam Schmidt Paralysis Foundation Scholarship Fund) restricted to people with spinal cord injuries. It was established to assist people who are working toward a degree and who are making a career change.
SSPF established a named scholarship at Thomas Edison State College. The College was chartered in 1972 and is one of the oldest institutions of higher learning in the country designed exclusively for adults. Students may earn associates, baccalaureate or master’s degrees as well as professional certificates. The College offers online courses, guided and independent study and a credit-transfer policy honoring past college experience.
They are a national leader in assessing and awarding credit for college-level learning acquired outside the classroom. Interested individuals should contact David A. Miller, Associate Vice President of Development, Thomas Edison State College, (609) 984-1588 ext 2077, dmiller@tesc.edu.
